Nobu Hotel - Miami Beach

Just the Miami Beach area can make you feel like you’ve driven right back into the 80’s, but for some reason it works. As we pulled up to the hotel we were greeted by the valet and escorted into the hotel, we originally booked a room at the Eden Roc Hotel but when we went inside to check in we were told there were two hotels in one and that we had been upgraded to the Nobu. The check in for Nobu was right next to the Eden Roc check in desk, two hotels in one, something I’ve never experience before. So we went with it and headed up to our new room.

First Impression: The reception area was very modern and classy, there was a Starbucks right in the lobby, and a large bar, the necessities in any lobby I’d say. My first impression was definitely a good one, the staff really made me feel like I was VIP, they even escorted us to the elevator… fancy.

The Room: The whole Nobu side of the hotel is Japanese themed, the room was very minimalist, however, it still remained very elegant at the same time. The door to the bathroom was a bamboo sliding door, the shower head was ceiling mounted, and there were thick plush robes with matching slippers waiting for us upon arrival, all of this of course attributed to the whole luxury vibe. The rest of the room was very spacious, two flat screen TV's, a sitting area with a large couch, and a mini bar stocked with everything you could think of.

The Food: There were a few restaurants on site which was important because in resort areas, there usually isn’t much close by so on site food is a necessity. The main restaurant was an upscale, Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant which was only open for dinner. There was also another restaurant called Malibu Farm, which was a farm-to-table fresh restaurant. We ate most of our meals at Malibu Farm because everything was simple, fresh, and really good, the tables right on the beach helped too.

The Pros: Beachfront location, Everything you need on site, High end and fast casual dining options, the "extra mile," this hotel really goes out of their way to make the guest have the best possible experience.

The Cons: Hidden fees! Hidden fees are sort of to be expected at resorts nowadays, but there were a few surprises when we checked out. The first night we went out to dinner and came back to our slippers next to the bed and two water bottles, at check out we were hit with the "turn down" fee for these surprise services we didn't ask for. Definitely not a deal breaker, just keep your privacy sign on the door if you want to avoid extra fees.

To sum things up; would I go there again? Yes! I would gladly go there again, multiple pools on site, reasonable price, and amazing food!
